A limited edition catalogue for the exhibition Even This Will Pass comprising 10 portraits which tell of the journeys of Eritrean refugees to find stability and hope in Britain.
Silvestri’s project aims to raise awareness of human trafficking and the plights of these refugees whose voices often remain unheard. She blurs the portraits of the survivors in order to preserves their dignity and hand-stitches their escape routes in coloured thread on to the images. Their paths are amalgamated on a large map, highlighting the different journeys they faced. Each portrait is matched with an accompanying text. The title of the project reflects a sentiment of hope, written on a wall on Mount Sinai by displaced Eritreans during their journeys.
